Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America, is an actress and singer. Parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier and both are television news directors. Bell was raised and birthed in Huntington Woods Michigan. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish as well as Scottish (father). Kristen's talent for entertainment was discovered at a very young age. She won her role as Raggedy Ann in 1992 after going to the first audition. Bell's mother established her with an agent before she was thirteen, and she got her first role in newspaper advertisements and television commercials. Also, she began private acting classes at that time. Bell played an uncredited character in the movie Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the musical and drama clubs. The Wizard of Oz production in her high school earned Bell the starring Dorothy part. Bell then moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student there. Bell quit university in 2001 to take on the character of Becky of Tom Sawyer. In 2001, she made her debut on the credit screen with the role of Becky Pootie Tang. However the scene she played was removed from the film and she was not even on the screen credits. Bell appeared with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
